CAN YOU ANSWER THIS QUESTION?
by Terry ina semi-famous math professional poses this question in a book i'm reading.. i find the answer to be counter-intuitive, but, entertaining.. here is the question:.
you buy a sack of spuds that weighs 100lbs and are told it is 99% water.. you leave the sack outside in the sun for a couple of days before bringing it inside to store.. you find the spuds are now only 98% water.. how much does the sack of spuds weigh?
(this is not a trick question.

My guess would be 1 pound. Assuming that the water weight is not relavant.

Generally its said that illegal immigrants work for less than minimum wage/under the table for jobs that Americans do not like to do (like picking apples), What will happen if illegals become legal. They will be eligible for minimum wage and benefits. Since minimum wage is consider poverty level, they would then have legal access to welfare benefits.
Look what they did to their own country.

a By the love they have among themselves
by Crooked Lumpy Vessel ini dont know the hebrew word for fake love....but this is the love that i have seen over and over again.. last year my nephew married a sister from our hall.
this young man is a good hearted person and saved himself for marraige.
looking back now in hindsight, i dont think this sister was a virgin but i think she pretended as though she was one.

What I also think is sad here is how imporant time is. Nobody is willing to help when they cant count their time. This goes to show the extent they are serving each other and not God. Do you think God would care how much time you spend in service? Only man cares about time issues, therefore in the end they are only serving man.
I was in a car group once where my study teacher was gossiping about another sister who visited a sick brother in the hospital and counted that as time. This sister was horrified that she counted that time blah blah. When I was in the hospital, my study teacher visited me, always and I mean always with study book in hand.
She was the one who put me in the hospital in the first place by placing guilt trips on me about my service time. I was 7.5 months pregnant and huge. Lost one twin already. I asked her to walk slow but she kept walking fast and she wpould snicker and giggle "im sorry I keep forgetting" Finally, after being in some pain I sat down in the car. The next day I was in the hospital bleeding extensively.
When word got out that I was in the hospital with a blood issue, JWs came out of the woodwork demanding that I do not receive blood. Well, that of course is another story. However, I did not take blood, as I thought I was being faithful, but now in hindsight I never realized how stupid that whole thing was.

Last year my nephew married a sister from our hall. This young man is a good hearted person and saved himself for marraige. Looking back now in hindsight, I dont think this sister was a virgin but I think she pretended as though she was one.
The first year was troublesome. Apparently, she grew fond of a man she worked with and began pursuing that relationship. My nephew knew something was going wrong in the marraige and approached an elder and requested that a private study be set up with his wife because she was suffering from spiritual weaknesses.
The elder responded by saying, "well since your wife is baptized, its uuuuummm going to hard to find a sister who will study with her.....ummmm, because you know they wont be able to count their time. I'll see what I can do."
Well, the elder never got back with him, and eventually, his wife gave in a committed adultry, over and over again. They are now going through a divorce. She got disfellowshipped but they all blamed my nephew because his parents are considered apostates. (they are just sure that has something to tdo with it) Makes me sick. Then to top things off, his ex-wife's mother told her daughter to take him for everything she can get because he ruined her life. Her mother is also a sister in the congregation. Can anyone say "gold digger"
My nephew was at the Kingdom Hall and sister blabbermouth was gossiping about his marraige saying, "I knew that marraige was never going to work from the beginning" What she did not realize was my nephew was in ear shot. He then approached her and said "excuse me, I would appreciate your not gossiping about my marraige" then he walked away. She got all hooty tooty.
My nephew now refuses to go to the hall. I cant believe I ever wasted 15 years of my life with blinders on. Luckily, he is getting out while he is young.

Prayer doesn't cure the sick, says study
by Elsewhere inhttp://www.physorg.com/news5205.html.
prayer doesn't cure the sick, says study .
praying for people who are facing heart surgery does not raise their chances of a cure or of avoiding death, according to an unusual study published this saturday in the british medical weekly the lancet.

The whole prayer thing always confused me. Pray to God for only spiritual things and not physical things. Then another says to pray to God for all things. Then I hear that God only hears the prayers of Witnesses etc.
But this is reality. Samantha Runnion was a 5 year old little girl, innocent of heart and mind. This little girl was snatch by a man 4 times her size who raped her and then killed her. He thre her nude body on the side of a dirt road like a piece of garbage. Where was God? Do you think she prayed? Was he watching?
A family of witnesses coming back from a convention in Tennessee stopped at a rest area and began witnessing to a group of teens. These teens abducted the family and shot them. The bullet holes in the shape of a pentagram in the father's chest. Where was God? Do you think they prayed? God didnt do them any special favors.
Then sister blabbermouth says thay God was looking out for her because the McTeenager at McDonalds forgot to put mayo on her sandwich and God was looking out for her because she didnt like mayo. I dont know about you...makes me wanna vomit.
I had a brother say to me that maybe God was allowing people at the hall to treat me badly...that HE was testing me to see how I would react. This told me a lot about mind manipulation. He was telling me that I was a failure and that God sees everything. I told him... I know God sees everything. God watched Samantha get raped and did nothing. If I was there I would have stopped him and I am nobody. Brother dingaling looked like he was going to get sick.
No we are on our own here. We can talk to our invisible friend if we want to. I believe in something greater than myself. Dont know for 100% certainty who or what that is. And the person standing next to me is only a person with a head, two arms and two legs. When did that pumpkin head become the authority on life, death and morality.
Like I said, the whole prayer thing confuses me.

Can a person be disfellowshipped and not know about it? Me and my husband have been shunned the moment we stopped attending meetings. No one has ever called and only a few have come by over the last 2 years. I think the past year we have only had two visits. One from the gossip queen and another from her sidekick.
What has been very noticeable about their visits is they never sit down and are constantly scanning the room for evidence. I had the sidekick notice my book collection from a dinstance and walked completely across the room to read the titles. Too bad the collection that I had out were old books like Moby Dick and Gulliver's Travels. (no one has ever done that before) I keep my things put away and I hate clutter, so there is not much for snoopers to find. I had a DVD out once and a brother walked over and picked it up as he was getting ready to leave. It was a childrens movie. Darn! I dont think anyone knows why we left, so they are speculating and trying to make assessments.
Anyway, today we had some brothers and sisters from our old book study pass by our house and as they drove by they looked at us but kept on going. Not even a wave. We have always been shunned and gossped about but can a person be disfellowshipped without knowledge? Would they send us something in the mail maybe?

I hopped on board the dumb truck right after the 70's. I was just a green onion then and believed everything the older people told me because I was young and old people were smart. Right?
Anyway, at that time I was told that Jehovah was "sweeping house" This was Jehovah's way of weeding out those who were interested in the truth only to save their skin and that those who remained were the faithful ones. I said, "RO-RAY!" in my best scooby doo voice. :p
I also remember during our study she said that those who went to Kingdom Halls were there because they loved Jehovah and not because they wanted to survive the big "A". I secretly was ashamed and then told her that the only reason I was there was because I did not want to die and I did not want my children to die -- forever. She said in her most sweet sisterly voice, "Over time that will change". Although I think she was wrong, she was still a sweet woman. I always secretly hoped that Jehovah would not kill me.

President Bush donates $10,000
by yesidid in.

I thinks its great that he donanted and it was probably a smart thing on his part to state the amount. Only because the Kerry-media has nothing better to do than speculate. Imagine...if he had kept the amount private, the news media would start saying he only donated 50 bucks or we would have months and months of media covering speculative amounts. Frankly, I am sick and tired of it.

Some were spared because they were attending the meetings....
Two brothers visiting Thailand from Finland were saved because they were in field service when the wave hit the tourist area they were staying at. When they returned to their cabin it was destroyed along with others.
Give me a break...they were saved because they were not at home. It had nothing to do with field service. I get sick when I here stories like this. The same kind of stories evolved from 911 too. When I was out if field service I use to hear these falsehoods shared as truths. I heard someone repeat this lunacy in response to a WT question. The person was not even corrected by the elder. Think about it, if a brother was home with their sick child instead of the meeting and died, would this mean that God personally was disappointed with them and chose to let them die. Or if the brothers were actually out in service in the tourist area? Every religion has their story of how God personally saved them.
